Kayque is a young Brazilian boy who lives with his mother, Naiane, and with a younger sister, in a slum area on the outskirts of a city located in the state of Ceara. Their simple home, which is rented, has brick walls, rough cement flooring and a clay-tiled roof. It has a tiny bathroom. Running water and electricity are available. The father has abandoned the home and has not been providing any type of financial support for his children. Naiane receives a very small family allowance from the federal government, which is far from enough to meet basic needs. Kayque is communicative, affectionate and playful. He helps his mom by putting away items like toys and dishes. He likes playing ball and with toy cars in the company of other kids his age. He has a cat he is fond of. Kayque is considered to have good health. He attends nursery school and loves coloring. He says that he will be a firefighter when he grows up. The family is needy and through your support Kayque and his family will have the opportunity to participate in important projects in the areas of health, recreation, education and nutrition.
